( Being intolerant of mediocrity @ 9:27 PM )

Deut 6:5 LOve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength...

I had been reading a book lately and this part of the book ministers and reminded me about lot's of things. This part of the book talks about mediocrity.
"mediocrity" comes form the root word "mediocrite"

The meaning of mediocrite is:
1. of only ordinary or moderate quality; neither good nor bad; barely adequate.
2. rather poor or inferior.

What do you think of your relationship with Christ?
What do you think of the way you are living for Christ?
what do you think of your service for Christ?

ok?
can lah?
passable?
doing just the right amount, enough to satisfy people who are looking at us or holding us accountable?

here's something from the book:
"God asks us to be intolerant of mediocrity in out life. How does that look in real life? Mediocrity is living the status quo. it's playing it safe. it's settling. it's patronizing ourselves. it's excusing ourselves. it's fearing something so much that we are willing to never experience it and all its benefits in exchange for the safe comfort we already know."

consider the verse at the beginning of this post. Are you living with all your heart, soul and strength for the Lord or are you reserving it because of any reasons?

Lately in life, things became tiring and taxing, sometimes i feel that everything is so demanding. to constantly move out of my comfort zone to love people more, be kinder to patients, more hardworking in sch work and ministry, take the effort to communicate and relate more with ministry workers, sharing the gospel, lesser sleep for myself.. Urgh.. i really don't want anything so hard in life, i rather have a easy life to just do things my pace, my way.... Yet i was reminded that if i am just going to live my life my way and within my comfort zone, i'll never experience where my Lord will want to bring me to, what He will me to grow in. Worst, i'll never grow in trusting Him and never understands His grace =D

What about you? what's your attitude in life? settling for the sidelines of life? or pushing your boundaries to sacrifices more , moving out of your comfort zone more?
Do you even find it hard to give time in basic things like nurturing your own spiritual walk and your relationship with God??

May our Lord constantly remind us not to tolerate attitude of mediocrity and even when we once and again fail Him, may His grace and mercy lift us up to help us continue in our christian journey. May God have mercy on us.

( Depend on God -- Melody Hadley @ 12:24 AM )

Today's Truth
Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:9 (NIV) instruct us, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

The Story
It was January 1995 and the day of my complicated ankle surgery was fast approaching. My mind filled with worry and questions like, "What if they can't repair the problems so that I can walk again? What if I lose my job because of being off so long?" As the fear and doubt crowded my heart and mind, it left little room for God and His promises. I finally realized that it was the devil trying to take away my peace, because worry is not from God. I prayed, asking the Lord to take away every fear, every hindrance to the harmonious relationship with Him that I knew in my heart was possible. He granted me peace and assurance that He would be with me throughout the surgery and recovery, no matter what the outcome.

The Lord has used my limitations to give me greater understanding and compassion for others with even more severe ambulation difficulties. Witnessing and encouraging them to pray, "asking, seeking, knocking" blessed both them and me.

Matthew and Luke both tell us that if we ask, we will receive, if we seek, we will find, and if we knock, the door will be opened. The key is being attuned to God, knowing in our heart that He loves us and choosing to take Him at His word. We can ask, seek, knock, and He will respond.

My Prayer
Dear Father,
I know that we can ask, seek and knock with You responding to our needs. Thank you for teaching me to depend on You and stand strong in my faith, so that I would not waver but trust you, and not worry.

In Jesus Name I Pray,
Amen

( Stretcher Bearers--Sharon Jaynes @ 11:02 PM )

Today's Truth
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!"
(Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10 NIV).

One day Jesus traveled to Capernaum, Peter's hometown. Jesus suddenly felt clay from the ceiling begin to rain down on his head and sprinkle his lashes. As Jesus raised his eyes to the ceiling, he discovered a growing opening in the ceiling and four very determined men.Jesus looked down at the paralyzed man lying on the palette before him and simply said, "Your sins are forgiven."

But wait; is that what the man really longed for? Is that what his friends had in mind? Oh my friend, sometimes it is our sin that paralyzes us. One of Satan's most damaging tactics is to paralyze us with our own emotional wounds. He wants to fill us with shame, weigh us down with guilt, and cripple our progress toward the cross, but Jesus came to set us free! He tells us to get up and walk!

The man's friends loved him enough to carry him to Jesus. Sometimes we don't have the energy to make it to the Healer alone. Someone once said, "A friend hears the song in my heart and sings it to me when my memory fails." A friend can remind me of God's faithfulness when my memory is clouded by the circumstances of life.

God sometimes uses friends to be our "stretcher bearers", those willing to carry us through the difficulties of life and set us at the feet of Jesus. At other times, He might call you to be that willing friend for someone else.

My Prayer

My Father,
Let me learn to help my friends out of their sins and bad memories.
Send me to people in need and Teach me to be willing to serve You by helping them.
I also pray Lord, that when I am in need of help, You would send an angel to help me.

In Jesus Name I pray,
Amen
